India’s health is under threat. While on the one hand, the country is combating the spread of infectious disease such as tuberculosis and HIV, and on the other, it is fighting the onslaught of obesity brought on a vicious cocktail of junk food and a sedentary lifestyle. According to the latest statistics, one in every five Indian men and women is either obese or overweight; and India is just behind US and China in the number of obese people.
India is also faced with the issue of substance abuse -- whether drug, alcohol or tobacco abuse. Statistics show the problem is at alarming levels with a number of addicts being in their teens.
We Care. At the Foundation, we have an action plan to help create a healthier society, with a focus on battling obesity, non-communicable diseases, as well as substance abuse
