Recent surveys showed that the crowded streets of Mumbai are considered among the dirtiest in the world. And that other Indian cities are not far behind.
More than half the country’s population defecates in the open because there are no toilets available for them to use. Couple that with the garbage spilling onto every open space, and a care-a-damn civic sense, and the challenge to keep India clean seems almost insurmountable.
But no mountain has been climbed without someone taking that first step.
